A government recruitment website is most useful when readers can find the original notification. This page explains how to check an announcement before making an important decision.
Start with the recruiting authority
Identify the government department, commission, board, university or institution responsible for the notice. Follow its official website, published notification or application portal. If a link appears suspicious, compare it with the organisation’s established website rather than entering personal information immediately.
Check the correct document and stage
A vacancy notice, corrigendum, admit-card announcement, provisional answer key and final result are different kinds of records. A later amendment may revise an earlier announcement. Check the notice number, examination cycle, post code, location, category and dates. Do not assume a headline applies to every post in a multi-role recruitment.
Information worth confirming
- Application opening and closing date, including whether the authority states an exact time.
- Post-wise qualifications, registration requirements, experience and language rules.
- Age calculation date, permissible relaxations and category-specific conditions.
- Vacancy distribution, reservation, fees, exemptions and selection stages.
- The original notification PDF and the exact official application or result destination.
Our publication limitations
Jobs247Alert tries to organise source-backed information, but automated format checks do not independently verify every fact. Information can be incomplete, ambiguous or superseded by a newer official notice. The authority’s own published material controls. You can report a discrepancy with a supporting source link.
